Whale Barn offers comfortable B&B-style self-catering accommodation in a separate wing of a family house set in the gently rolling farmland of the Childerley Estate just west of Cambridge.
Our two en-suite rooms are in the west wing. It’s self-contained, along with a guest kitchen.
We provide our guests with eggs, bread, milk and other essentials in the guest kitchen for a really premium breakfast experience. You can help yourself to breakfast at a time and pace to suit your own timetable.
We have one large family bedroom, with its own sunny terrace, a kingsize double bed, single bed, a travel cot, and an en-suite shower room with power shower and permanent hot water.
We also offer a double bedroom with en-suite shower room with power shower and permanent hot water.
The rooms are centrally heated, there’s a washing machine if you need one, and parking is off-street.
For lunch and dinner there are nice pubs in the nearby villages of Elsworth, Boxworth (both walking distance across the fields in daylight hours), Conington (an easy cycle ride), and if you don’t mind driving we suggest the Willow Tree at Bourn (our favourite), and the Eltisley Pub in Eltisley.
Serious nightlife is available in Cambridge, including a wide range of theatre, cinema, restaurants, pubs and clubs. The Cambridge shopping and tourism are world class.
We are close to the business park at Cambourne, the heart hospital at Papworth, and the excellent Cambridgeshire wedding venues at Childerley, South Farm, and The Belfry at Cambourne. We are also close to Bourn Hall Clinic.
